I found this nice little .pdf that Jim Dickinson put together from 1989 and thought maybe it could help some DIY's who are building new VOTT's..

i guess i've done everything on the list with the cabinets i bought off the DJ from trinidad. 515Gs, bracing, foamed horn flanges, 902 8Ts (could use a pair of pascalites), wings.

So, how come my early two piece backed 825 cabinets in my A7-500's are made from 3/4" plywood and not 5/8" as mentioned in the article?

Well let's face it a lot of these cabinets have been built by contractors and not at the Altec factory. Most of the cabinets that I have seen built by Altec come with serial numbers. Whether on paper decal, stamped on the wood, or on a metal plate. If yours has none chances are they are home-brew.Yeah I know the paper decal could have fallen off.
I have 2 825 cabinets. One came with vertical ports like the early boxes did and the other had a horizontal port as found on the later boxes. The vertical one was 5/8" and the horizontal one was 3/4". While doing the extra bracing etc I converted the vertical port box to horizontal so they match except for the cabinet widths.
